Heidelberg goes Madrid

A Message from Carla from Madrid

Dear friends!

We miss our yearly appointment in Schriesheim, our dear friends from the Heidelberg Set Dancing team did such an amazing job for so long (thank you one more time!).

After having given it a lot of thought, we decided that the first weekend of October shall remain saved for Set Dancing. But now it's time for the South!
We happily invite you to our next year's Madrid Set Dancing Weekend (1 - 3 of October 2027), if everything goes as planned we will be having Mairéad Casey and the Abbey Ceili Band with us, so save the date!

But what about this year 2026?

For those of you who already want to try out the southern feeling, we have organised a little event in October 2026 (next month!). It's small and sweet and it'll also leave some time to enjoy the city of Madrid. If you want to come, it would be a pleasure to have you here already this year!

Program

Friday 23/10

• Meet&Greet with session at "El mesón de la tortilla" (around 20:00h)

Saturday 24/10

• 10:00h - 17:00h - Set Dance beginners workshop with Mairéad Casey
• 19:00h - 22:00h - Ceili with Abbey Ceili Duo

Sunday 25/10

• Session at the Collin's Irish Tavern (around 12:30h)
• For those who want to join there will be a concert of the group "Aérokorda" with an irish dance show from the spanish irish dancers "Irish Treble" and some balfolk (traditional dances mainly from France and Brittany) in the Sala Galileo at 18:30h. • Friday evening and Sunday morning each one pays for their drinks/food
